Fillers and Botox™
Options to help in combating the aging process with little down time are those that either soften or erase fine lines and wrinkles, or fill areas where facial fat has lessened. Fillers offered by Dr. Kelly include human derived collagen with a lasting quality of about 3 months. This collagen does not come from bovine or cow sources but rather is human based and prepared to eliminate disease or problems. It does not require testing as it is inert and of human origin.
Rstylane is a newer filler option derived in a laboratory of naturally occurring skin components. This filler has a lasting quality of 4-6 months, if layered to fill deficits. It, like the collagen, corrects depressions, corrects thin lips and softens sharp lines of the face.
Radiesse is perhaps the longest lasting filler currently FDA approved and active on the market. It has been used in medicine for many years and is a component of bone substances. While the areas for its use are limited, it has revolutionized the softening of the nasolabial fold (laugh lines). It has a lasting quality of about 2 -3 years. Injection of this substance requires a numbing injection first. |
